After a document is created give the user the ability to create an e-signature version
Workflow and Output Improvements: Make it easier to go from a filled template to a final deliverable. For instance, offer a one-click option to save the filled document as PDF or even email it directly. This could be a simple enhancement where after the user clicks “Apply” to generate a new document, they have the option to immediately download the PDF or send it via Gmail. Such shortcuts streamline the workflow for users (especially sales or account managers who generate a doc then send to a client). Another valuable addition could be integration with e-signature services (or Google’s own e-signature in Docs) – e.g. a feature to “Send for Signature” after populating a template. Partnering with tools like DocuSign or Adobe Sign via their APIs would let users move seamlessly from document creation to signature collection, covering the entire document lifecycle. This is an indirect way to differentiate Doc Variables and appeal to users who currently might use separate tools for document generation and signing. Even a basic integration or guide on using Doc Variables with e-signature add-ons would add value for legal and sales users who routinely need signed agreements.

Doc Variables slow, how to update and use variables
Doc Variables is not really usable unless you have a lot of time. It is dead slow to add a variable (takes minutes for a simple text variable) and in addition the flow is unclear. Like how can you edit/change a text variable? How can I add it somewhere else in the document. These actions should be clear from the menu but are not. There are nice features but most of the time but mostly we will use the simple text or drop-down. For example, once you added a text doc variable you can use it once and then it is gone, nowhere to be found..

Add the ability to import / load graphic file from a Google folder.
File would be referenced in much the same way as the Google Sheets Reference . An ability to scale the size of the graphic will be helpful.
